About Us

Restoring lives since 2012

He Ala Hou O Ke Ola — "A New Path of Life" — is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit community in Honolulu dedicated to transforming lives, restoring hope, and offering new beginnings.

Our Mission

Educate. Equip. Prepare.

We educate, equip, and prepare individuals with the resources and support needed to successfully reintegrate into society — serving men who are justice-involved, experiencing homelessness, or struggling with addiction and mental health challenges.

Our vision is a thriving community where individuals recover, families reunite, and people find freedom, healing, and purpose on their new path of life.

The HAHOKO Road Map

More than recovery — a clear path to independence

Every man who walks through our doors follows the same proven, step-by-step journey. Each phase has real milestones, so progress is always visible.

1

Educate

Substance abuse treatment, spiritual guidance, life skills, and workforce development classes build the mindset for success.

2

Equip

ID documents, a cell phone, bus pass, resume, and employment — the essential tools for a clear path forward.

3

Prepare

Transition to semi-independent, clean & sober living while working with housing coordinators toward stability.

4

Graduate

In about one year: clean, employed, housed — with a plan of action and a community that doesn't let go.

Why HAHOKO Works

One team. One culture. One path.

Centralized Services

Everything a participant needs is under one roof — no bouncing between agencies, no falling through the cracks.

Structured Progression

A clear step-by-step process with attainable milestones keeps every man motivated and moving forward.

Led by Lived Experience

95% of our team graduated this program. Our participants trust us because we've walked their road.

Consistent Support

From homeless to permanently housed, participants work with the same staff, culture, and structure the whole way.
